I don't know if this news is true but in any case It seems crazy to me to expect an actor to have to justify the way he plays a role. An actor interprets, gives life to a character, following a script, under instructions. of a director and the only limits he can have in this may be the director's instructions, those that his co-worker or he himself can set and I don't know any "incredible" actor who sets limits for himself. His job is to interpret the character he brings to life in the most credible way possible, resorting to the interpretive resources that he has to resort to and depending on how he performs his interpretation he will go unnoticed, or he will be hated by some and loved by others or they will hate him and they will love at the same time, that is the price you pay for your performance But telling an actor how they should play a role seems very strong!!! to me, it's like telling a doctor how to act in the operating room or a firefighter how to put out a fire. If an actor has to take into account the points of view, perspectives or connotations of millions of people in the world when choosing a project, or giving life to a character, it would never work because each project, no matter how innocent it may seem, has as many visions as there are people who see it.
