  5. You hear all these stories from idols, going all the way back to 1st and 2nd generation groups, talking about how exhausted they were because of unhealthy schedules. What’s crazy is that you still hear the same things from fourth- and fifth-generation idols today.

    And what do these companies do? Instead of fixing the problem, they pile on even more schedules. It’s like they expect idols to be robots.

    Some idols have talked about not being able to properly wash up for days because they were so busy, or only getting an hour of sleep a day. That’s insane. No wonder we keep hearing about idols struggling with their mental health, taking hiatuses, or experiencing burnout.

    So many idols in recent generations have gone on hiatus, and that shouldn’t be considered normal. A lot of them are mentally and physically drained from the pressure and workload. Yet it often feels like the companies’ response is to keep adding more schedules instead of addressing the root of the problem.
