  12. The composer behind a string of SHIZUKA KUDO's hit songs is TSUGUTOSHI GOTO , a former bassist for the SADISTIC MIKA BAND（SADISTICS）ーthe same group MASAYOSHI TAKANAKA once belonged to.

    While primarily a bassist, GOTO teamed up with lyricist ”YASUSHI AKIMOTO” in the early 1990s to become a big hit-maker in the Japanese pop music scene.

    "SADISTIC MIKA BAND" History.

    (1971)

    ・In November 1971 "SADISTIC MIKA BAND" formed in Japan.（KAZUHIKO KATO was Bandmaster (ex- The Folk Crusaders）)

    (1973)

    ・On May 5, 1973, the first album "SADISTIC MIKA BAND" was released in Japan. By TOSHIBA EMI.

    (1974)

    ・In June 1974: SADISTIC MIKA BAND's 1st album release in Europe by HARVEST UK.

    ・In 1974: British music producer CHRIS THOMAS (sound supervisor of PINK FLOYD's "DARK SIDE OF THE MOON " (1973)) approached to produce SADISTIC MIKA BAND's album, and they invited CHRIS to Japan to produce their second album.

    ・In November 1974: their 2nd album "BLACK SHIP (KURO-FUNE)" released in Japan.

    ・In April 1975 :"BLACK SHIP" released by HARVEST UK in the UK and USA.

    ・CHRIS THOMAS came to Japan and he produced their 3rd album "HOT! MENU".

    ・In October 1975 3rd album "HOT! MENU" released simultaneously in the UK and Japan.

    ・In October 1975: as a promotion of 3rd "HOT! MENU", accompanied with ROXY MUSIC, SADISTIC MIKA BAND members went to UK and toured UK about one month for the first time.

    ・The following year in 1976, four tour members, excluding front man Mr. and Mrs. KATO, changed their name to "SADISTICS" and resumed their activities.

    ・In July 1976: Guitarist MASAYOSHI TAKANAKA released his first solo album "SEYCHELLES". (released only in Japan).

    ・TSUGUTOSHI GOTO has opened his eyes as a composer and arranger rather than a Bassist, and he has contributed countless songs to many singers.　

    Since he joined forces with " YASUSHI AKIMOTO " to produce the idol group "ONYANKO CLUB".

    In particular, he composed "MUGO n…IroPPoi" for singer SHIZUKA KUDO（ex Onyanko Club）in 1988, which reached No. 1 on the Japanese national hit charts.

    ・With " CAREN KIRISHIMA " as the second female vocalist (as second MIKA) and put out an studio album "APPARE (Oh my gosh)" and a live album "SEITEN".

    (2006)"SADISTIC MI’KAELA’ BAND"

    ・On October 25, 2006 they released the Reunited album 5th "NARKISSOS" (Japan only).

    ・The second reunion featured solo singer KAERLA KIMURA as the third "MIKA,"

    〇the group lost two key players when KAZUHIKO KATO passed away in 2009 and YUKIHIRO TAKAHASHI passed away in 2023. In the end, "NARKISSOS" was their last band album.
