STORYLINE:
Kpop singer Jang Won-yung threw out a ceremonial first pitch Sunday at New York’s Citi Field Sunday ahead of the Mets versus Dodgers baseball game.

Jang is a member of the girl group IVE and was joined at the baseball field by her bandmates. IVE is in North America for the second leg of their “Show What I Am” world tour.

Major League Baseball (MLB) has been inviting Kpop performers to its games to court a younger audience and build hype around their teams on social media. Other Kpop stars who have attended baseball games include G Dragon and BTS’ V.

The Mets went on to beat the Dodgers 8 to 3.
