It's honestly due to them releasing low quality songs with outdated concepts paired with JYP's lack of promotion. I mean‚ Imaginary friend & the whole born to be album was a step in the right direction. But gold‚ cake & sneakers were NOT it‚ like itzy lost the plot after loco & lost a tot of momentum & casual listenrs moved onto other groups with fresher & unique concepts & sounds while itzy struggled to sustain a devoted fan base. Now,‚ they definitely have the chance to bounce back & dominate like they once used to but it won't be as easy considering their competition has only increased esp in the gg space as groups like Ive‚ illit‚ aespa & le sserafim are currently ruling the charts & gaining immense popularity making it even more difficult for itzy to regain their original fan base
