  9. Whatever his past may have been, I neither know it nor am I particularly interested in it. What I do know is that today, one of the few South Korean names in the film industry to be heard far beyond the boundaries of its own cinematic culture is that of Kim Soo-hyun.

I have watched his films, and I can speak only about what I see on the screen. My impression — one that, as far as I can see, is shared by many people in the world of cinema — is that he is an exceptionally gifted actor and, to me, one of the most beautiful faces in contemporary South Korean cinema.

Whatever his past may have been, it is the past. There is no human being without a past.

When I watch a film, or encounter any genuine work of art, what interests me above all is what has been created. Art does not automatically become true or false, great or worthless, because of the private life of the person who created it.

Perhaps this is precisely one of the questions of our time: are we still capable of standing before a work of art and seeing it for what it is, or have we become so preoccupied with passing judgment on the person behind it that we have forgotten how to look?

Because when we lose the ability to distinguish between a human being, their work, and the judgments we make about both, the question is no longer simply what has happened to art — but what has happened to us.

I hope that I will finally see another great work of art by this phenomenal actor on the big screen. And that we will once again be able to talk about what, to me, is the only thing that truly matters — the film, the performance, and the art.

  24. Filipinos give the best loudest and enthusiastic audience reaction around the world. No doubt about that.
Even kpop singers experience that. Watch all the 2026 kpop clips and all overwhelming. Esp ATEEZ, DAY 6, XDINARY HEROES, SEVENTEEN, XIKERS?, IKON, EXO, all loud from beginning to end. 😂
