  3. Tbf even tho namjoons is embarrassed by the name rap monster, I don’t believe it’s an embarrassing name, he really was a rap monster back in the day 😭😂

  6. Actually RM doesn't literally stand for Real Me. In the interview RM said that it could be a possible meaning. Also RM had been thinking of changing his name since 2015. Hence the name of his first mixtape is also RM. In another interview RM said that if he could go back he would tell young RM to "not name himself rap monster coz he's not a monster but a beautiful human". Actually the origin of the name came from an English song in which the lyrics said I'm a rap monster. RM thought it was cool and interpreted it as someone who raps like a monster. There's also another reason something related to the maplestory game (I don't remember much). In the video Jimin said thanks to maplestory bts exists. Fun fact a lot of koreans still call RM as rap monster. But I would suggest everyone to not call him that coz saying someone's name correctly is the basic form of respect and we should respect RM's choice

  7. Thank you for making these! People are stuck on the idea that RM means “Real Me” but it’s just a possible meaning that Joon came up with. I think he wants to keep it vague.

  10. I have read that names often times gives different vibrations to their owner. I like Rap Monster name as a teen but as and adult RM suit him better. I am also grateful that RM changes his stage name to RM as it show maturity and embracing his authentic real self. Everyone has their shadows and light sides so respect to him🤗🙌

Well there's that and im not sure if any of you have heard of this but theres a song joon wrote called 'too much' where he let out a lot of the negative feelings he was having, and called himself a monster. I feel like the change from rap monster to real me also symbolizes redemption and self acceptance 🥺

Actually he changed from Rap Monster, because he called it Rap, because he was good at rapping, and Monster, because he hated himself, he said now that he’s learning to love himself, he no longer thinks of himself as a monster or beast, therefore changing the name to RM- Real Me as a Process of self love 😊
