  21. 今回のAmazon Musicのパフォーマンスで、“Sexy In The Air”と“Long Way Home”というテミンの二つの顔がフィーチャーされたのが、とても興味深かった。それと同時に、“魅せる音楽”と“伝える音楽”のジレンマを感じずにはいられなかった。

    “Sexy In The Ai”が、あの“MOVE”のように圧倒的なビジュアルでねじ伏せる「魅せる音楽」だとするならば、スローな楽曲は、私たちファンとこれまでの歩みを確かめ合うような「伝える音楽」だと、私は（勝手な妄想かもしれないけれど）そう思っている。

    でも、時々ふと不思議な感覚に陥ることがある。

    テミンのダンスがあまりに完璧で美しすぎるせいで、かえって彼が歌に込めた「本当の心の声」が、視覚の輝きに隠されてしまうような気がするのだ。

    今回の“Long Way Home”は英語曲ということもあり、言葉の壁を超えてその心模様を伝えるのは、並大抵のことではないはずだ。マイクを持つ手、指先の動き、ふとした微笑み、うなだれた首筋。その一つひとつに視線を奪われているうちに、彼特有の繊細で憂いのある歌声が、スルスルと指の間を抜けていってしまうようなもどかしさを覚える。

    一人で夜風に吹かれながら一日を終える彼の孤独や、ファンに語りかける眼差し。それをもっと純粋に受け取りたいのに、彼のあまりに秀でた才能が、かえってそれを邪魔してしまう。なんとも贅沢なジレンマ。

    テミンは素敵な「伝える楽曲」をたくさん持っていながら、往々にして「魅せる音楽」の影に隠れてしまいがちに思う。　あえてMVを見ずに曲だけを聴くことを選ぶことがある。彼の繊細な声がビジュアルに邪魔されず、自然に耳に入り温かさを感じられるから。

    “Move”や“Advice”のような華やかな「動」の世界もいいけれど、静寂の中で聴く“世界で一番愛した人”や“I’m Crying” “Not Over You”には、ダンスという鎧を脱いだ「人間・テミン」が隣で語りかけてくれるような温かさがある。今回の“Long Way Home”もそんな温かさがある一曲。鎧を脱いだテミンのスローは魅力的だ。

    「見せる」と「伝える」。この両極端な世界を、ひとりのアーティストとして表現するテミンを本当に誇りに思う。

  22. I love that you can really see the influence Michael Jackson has had on Taemin and his love of dancing in this video- especially his choreography with the microphone stand. I bet MJ would've loved to see and work with him if he were still alive.

  41. I’m so happy that Taemin is back with romantic R&B. His voice truly shines in this genre, and somehow it reminded me of his beginnings with Press It. I love this song and I’m completely obsessed with Taemin. I don’t understand why it wasn’t released on his official channel
