Capturing the freshness of mornings and the sexiness of evenings

Tomohisa Yamashita graces the cover of MAQUIA’s December special edition. His mature maturity and inner beauty—we bring you a glimpse into the photoshoot, encapsulating his charm.

[The “Yamashita Theater”: Captivating Posture and Ever-changing Expressions]

In fact, during a pre-shoot meeting, even the experienced photographer commented, “Thanks to his training, he’s truly beautiful, from his physique to everything else. ‘I’d be YamaP if I could.'”

When he finally entered the set, even in a simple T-shirt, his aura was already undeniable.

The hidden themes of this shoot were morning and night.

Yamashita stood in soft light during the “Morning” shoot. His lying down posture and sudden smile were like a scene from a movie. His presence stood out even in the natural atmosphere, and all that could be heard was a sigh. “Thank you for making it so exciting!” he said with a smile to the staff, who were in awe of his every movement. His unexpected smile also really captured our hearts.

On the other hand, for the “night”-themed shoot, his sex appeal was at its maximum just by wearing a simple GUCCI outfit. From a strong gaze to a fearless smile, he captivated the set with a variety of expressions.

[Tomohisa Yamashita Discusses “A Beautiful Way of Life”]

In this interview, Yamashita, who is admired by many younger generations and whose charm only grows with age, talks about “how to age beautifully.”

Yamashita discusses who he considers beautiful, how to achieve his dreams, and what his current source of energy is. He says, “I’ve been working since I was a child, so maybe now that I’m an adult, I’m catching up on the things I haven’t done yet (excerpt from MAQUIQ’s December issue).”

In fact, during the interview, the October special issue of MAQUIA (featuring Kamenashi Kazuya on the cover) happened to be on my desk. Seeing Kamenashi, a longtime friend and known baseball fan, on the cover, he offered a witty analogy, “If I were to use a baseball analogy…” His flexibility was impressive.

The writer who conducted the interview this time was someone who previously ran a series on Yamashita for another magazine, and he was touched many times by how Yamashita has now become even more fulfilled as a person after a busy period.

After the interview, he also said, “The lunch was delicious!”, which left the staff who prepared it trembling with joy (laughs). Even after Yamashita left, the impression of being overflowing with adult composure lingered in his mind, with the staff still intoxicated by his charm, exclaiming, “That was amazing…” “He was beautiful…” “Let’s do some muscle training…”

MAQUIA12月号特別版の表紙は山下智久さん。大人の円 熟味と内側からにじむ美しさ――その魅力が凝縮された 撮影現場の様子をお届けします。

【佇まい、移り変わる表情で魅せる“山下劇場”】

実は撮影前の打ち合わせ時、熟練のカメラマンさんにさ えも「鍛えているのもあって、骨格から何から本当に美 しいんです。『なれるものなら山P』ですよ」と言わしめ ていた山下智久さん。

いざ撮影現場に入られると、シンプルなTシャツ姿なが ら、その時点で既に隠しきれないオーラが。

今回の撮影の裏テーマは、朝、そして夜。

「朝」の撮影では、柔らかな光の中に佇む山下さん。寝そ べる姿も、ふっとこぼれる笑顔も、まるで映画のワン シーンのよう。ナチュラルな雰囲気の中でも存在感が際 立ち、その場に漏れるのはため息のみ。動きの一つ一つ に感嘆しきり… のスタッフたちに対して「盛り上げてくだ さってありがとうございます!」とニッコリ。不意打ちの 笑顔にもぐっと心を掴まれました。

一方、「夜」をテーマにした撮影では、シンプルな GUCCI の装いに身を包んだだけで、色気の出力がMAXに。キリ リと強い眼差しから、不敵な笑みまで、さまざまな表情 で現場を魅了してくれました。

【#山下智久 さんが語る「美しい生き方」】

インタビューでは、たくさんの後輩から慕われ、歳を重 ねるほどに魅力が増す山下さんが語る、「美しい歳の重ね 方」についてお伺い。

美しいと感じる人、夢の叶え方、そして「子供の頃から ずっと仕事をしていたから“やってこなかったこと”を大 人になった今、回収しているのかもしれない (MAQUIQ12月号より一部抜粋)」と語る山下さんの今現 在の活力源とは。

そして、実はインタビューの際、デスクにはちょうど MAQUIA10月号増刊(亀梨和也さん表紙)が。若き日から の盟友であり、野球好きで知られる亀梨さんの表紙を見 て「野球で例えると…」など、ウィットに富んだ例え話を してくれる柔軟さも印象的でした。

今回インタビューを担当したのは、以前別の雑誌で山下 さんの連載を担当していたライターさんだったのです が、多忙な時期を経て、いま人としてさらに充実してい る山下さんの姿に、何度も胸を熱くしていました。

また取材後には「お弁当すごくおいしかったです!」と声 をかけてくださり、準備したスタッフは嬉しさに震える ことに(笑)。最後まで大人の余裕に満ちあふれた姿に、 山下さんが帰られた後も余韻冷めやらず、「凄かった…」 「美しかったね…」 「筋トレしよう…」とその魅力に酔いし れるスタッフたちだったのでした。
