  2. Su's voice here is like an angel. I get full body frissons several times in this version. And she makes me want to cry. And I'm a 67 y/o guy & I don't cry easily.

  4. For as much as I would have loved to seen all of this….
    I watched your reaction of the live one earlier and even then….this song moves me every time i hear it like no other song can.
    Su's vocals, the back up vocals, the structure of the song going from minor to major to give that 'feel good' in the last half of the song, the idea of adding color to a monochrome sky….and something I always told my gf until she passed away a few years ago….the last thing Su says in this song.

  8. You were bound to love this, the piano version could almost be a different song. I won't go into the deeper meaning of the song, that is open to our own interpretations, but it is a song full of hope taking us from our darkest hour when everything seems to be lost and there is nothing, not even the brightest stars can shine through to imagining colour in the black sky, then imagining the sky in rainbow colours and eventually believing we can illuminate the whole world in rainbow colours.🌈

    I do have a theory about the figures in white – they were providing some backing vocals in support of Moametal. We can have an educated guess at who they were, but we don't know for sure.
    In my mind the fact they are dressed in white is significant. BABYMETAL have dressed in white 3 times before this and each time was a significant turning point for them.

    First time they appeared in white was for the last 2 encore songs at Legend Z early in 2013. That was their last concert before they officially separated from their parent group Sakura Gakuin.

    Second time Yui and Moa started the Legend 1997 concert dressed in white and making an offering in a theatrical piece to the god of metal statue. Legend 1997 was Su-metal's 16th birthday concert but it was also the last stage in their separation and the whole concert told the tale of their and Su's transition from JPop Idols to becoming an independent band and Su giving up her former life to be reborn as a Metal Goddess.

    Third time was in the official mv for 'Karate' where they were conjuring up their inner demons to fight against. 'Karate' was the lead single in 2016 for their second album and that was a significant step away from the collection of singles they had released in Sakura Gakuin and some new songs that had made up the first album towards their own new and more structured second album.

    The First Take video was the last one released by Su and Moa as a duo, the figures in white were there at another important change for BABYMETAL – the next video they released was another First Take one, but it was released after Momometal's reveal, so all three of them performed 'The One' unfinished version.
    'The One' is a song for and dedicated to the BABYMETAL fans – also called The One of course.

  10. And just today, our Queen Su won the Metal Award as Best Female Metal SInger of 2024!! She was born to sing, and she's just wonderful at it, and as a person.
    The other girl is Moa, who's there from the beginning of BM. Momo wasn't yet an official member. This recording was made at convulse times for BM and the three figures in white robes are open to interpretation. Some say is already Momo, some say is a tribute to Yui, the founding member who left due to health issues, but we don't know for sure (Btw, you could enjoy one of the several guides to Babymetal that are available around; they are always informative and fun to react to)

  11. The girls in white were just to provide more backing vocals. I don't think we ever figured out who they are. Maybe they are the girls from Metalverse (younger generation of BABYMETAL).

  12. 3 chorus people thought it was a hint of a new member (this came out before Momo was an official member). Or it was the Avengers backing up, nobody (fans) really knows for sure.
    Check out Akatsuki (unfinished, 2 other live versions) & No Rain, No Rainbow (about 3 or 4 different versions), 2 of 4 Su solo songs.

    So, you're saying you can't tell Moa and Momo apart. Interesting.

    That's Moa. An original member. An amazing vocalist on her own. She's NOT just a dancer.

    You TOTALLY dismissed Moa's contribution to the song. You started to talk about her and then just stopped and went right back to talking about Su.

    BabyMetal is 3 EQUAL performers. All 3 are amazing vocalists.

  18. After watching the video, many people who didn't know BabyMetal thought she was not just an idol but a famous Japanese pop vocalist. But they had absolutely no idea she was a metal singer. Indeed, becoming a pop vocalist or idol was Su’s childhood dream. But she finally chose BabyMetal, which is the luckiest thing for BabyMetal fans. Today she has also become the best female metal singer in 2024. Thanks for your great reaction.

  23. If you want another song with a similar vibe to this, i would recommend No Rain No Rainbow which is a Su solo. My favorite version is the 2021 Budokan version due to Su's more mature voice but unfortunately i think this video got deleted with the removal of For The Fox God's channel. Also, would probably be a good idea to rewind 5 seconds after each pause so you dont accidentally miss something like in this video where you paused and resumed in the middle of Su's best note in the song (which is where other reactors usually get impressed and pause to comment after). Awesome reaction regardless, keep it up!

  24. Amen brother. Su-metal’s vocals are just incredible. Beyond a talented and technically amazing singer, her voice has an angelic softness combined with a metallic sharpness. All this backed by immense power that cuts right into your musical soul. 🙂‍↔️👌

  28. Well, since the first Take Version of the one looked roughly the same, we can pretty much guess who the bathrobes were. Su Moa and Momo.. their relative sizes are a very strong Indikator. It was probably easier zo drive one time with the whole bunch to first take and Film Monochrome and the One, than to drive differently. We know how Momo and Moa Sound together, this doesn't Match Monochrome, butbit Sounds like Legend M (Moa alone).

  29. Just repeating below what some others have speculated. Pure speculation here though.

    In the Official MV for Karate three white robed figures representing an alternate version of the young ladies existed. Some speculate that either the original 3 "Avengers" (alternating temporary fill ins for Yui Mizuno who left in 2018 due to illness – which included Momoko before she became an official member) or members the younger BABYMETAL spin off group "Metalverse" were the three robed figures here in the First Take performance.

    Knowing Koba (their producer) it is possible

  30. Just finished watching all your Babymetal reactions, going off this video, you commented about what took you so long, that happened with me as well. Had known their name for years but never listened to them. Then they did the collab with Electric Callboy, started listening and haven't stopped. Actually drove 4 hours to Cincinnati to see them in November, sadly they didn't play this song while I was there, but instead we got Karate, which was also fantastic. I will say, their live shows are something else and they do have more crowd participation than a lot of other bands out there that I have seen. I saw it recommended on the previous video, but should definitely check out Road of Resistance Live in Japan. Interesting enough you brought it up in your Megitsune video that you had gotten a Dragonforce feel from that one, well RoR actually had the guitar arrangements written by Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce, they even did the studio recording for it.

    I would also suggest Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997. There are actually multiple versions of Headbanger you should react to. For Proshot versions you have the one I just mentioned as well as Moabanger and Momobanger versions. (Unfortunately Momobanger, at least a good version of it, was only on For The Fox God's channel, that I have seen anyways, however, you can still view it if you use The Way Back Machine)

  31. Congratulations to Suzuka for being named yesterday as MA (Metal Awards) Best Female Metal Vocalist 2024 . She won over Floor Jansen and Tarja Turunen.
