  4. whenever a kpop idol posts a vlog from hawaii, it's almost always on oahu, where i live. so i like to timestamp the locations in a comment like a tour guide, in case you ever come:

    0:17 there's a walkway along most of waikiki beach (where the tourists all are) that was meant for a peaceful romantic stroll. problem is it's always always always crowded. but the view is still nice. this spot is in front of the Sheraton Waikiki where she must've been staying. the mountain in the distance is diamond head crater, the iconic image of waikiki.

    0:33 yard house (on lewers street, a short walk from her hotel) does have good food and i've always recommended it to people visiting. but i generally don't like to eat anywhere in waikiki because food is cheaper away from town.
    1:21 that's the celtics vs cavs playoff game on the tv in the background. they're playing in cleveland, so you can deduce this video was taken either on 5/11/24 or 5/13/24
    2:37 sheraton waikiki has an infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and the bar on the right is called "the edge of waikiki." neat, right?

    4:36 food court at ala moana shopping center. it's only about a mile from her hotel, but that part of time is busy in the morning so expect a 15-minute uber ride
    4:45 L&L is a local food chain that also serves several other states and a handful of other countries. i don't go there much anymore, but when i do i always get the bbq chicken
    4:55 Kewalo harbor (another couple minutes outside waikiki). looks like one of those tours you can book via the front desk at the hotel. they're good for tourism because they're safe and easy and sometimes you can get a good deal.

    6:02 green sea turtle (not to be confused with a hawksbill, which is smaller with a heart-shaped). i think hawaii has 5 different sea turtle species, and all are either listed as "endangered" or "protected." so while you are encouraged to explore and photograph/film them, you are not to touch them. also, that stamp drawing is so cute lol
    10:13 most stuff in ala moana shopping center is more expensive than it should be. i wish she and her friends had wandered away from that part of town, because there are cheaper places to shop elsewhere
    11:02 walmart on keeaumoku st (a couple blocks away from ala moana shopping center) i imagine she and her friends were very sweaty walking there, because town at this part of the year is very warm and humid.
    11:25 walmart is the cheapest, but that particular location is not, because it's close to waikiki, and everything is more expensive there. there's another walmart 11 minutes away from this one that's cheaper and less crowded.
