Anyone else here after seeing Karen Chen's skate the other night?
Still the most beautiful free program ever.. Such elegance, such musicality and such a stunning choreo. Beautiful music too. Wonderful to see it again, still love it.

Her performance was great, but even though it's not my favorite performance by a figure skater, I will go so far to say that no figure skater has ever reached this level of physical beauty as Lu Chen was during this performance.

The attempted 3toe-3toe at the end was insane. Must have been improvised. Glad she didn't fall. It would have dampened the overall emotional impact.
She is just like floating on ice. Her motion is like liquid.

She really laid it all out there that night – I think this was the only (?) time in her career that she went for a 7-triple program, and with a Hail Mary 3/3 attempt way at the end as well. She held nothing back.
But jumps aside, for me it was all about the elegant simplicity in her skating and her artistry. I'm so glad the judges recognized it and gave her the respectable marks even if she wasn't favored to win a medal.

長野オリンピックの年は、陳露もそうだけど、他の国々のスケーターが歴史に残る、心に残る名演技が多かった。
