28. Many are of the opinion that Mikasa never married after Eren's death, which is understandable considering her love for him, but is it true? What does the anime itself tell us?

    The end of the anime reveals that she is married with a child, and proves it with undeniable evidence like her wearing a ring. I will go through them one by one

    There is a lot of evidence that she did marry and that the man she married was actually Jean. It's understandable that people would think that she wouldn't marry after Eren, and I don't blame anyone for thinking that because she loved him so much. But the final scenes made it really clear that she married Jean, although she still had a soft spot for Eren. I will go over the usual evidence and arguments that people make to prove that she was unmarried

    Many say that the man she was visiting Eren's grave with was Armin, but this is impossible for many reasons. First of all, you can see that the man is much taller than Mikasa, at least 5 inches (13 cm) taller than her. Keep in mind that Mikasa is 5'9 (176cm) and Armin is 5'6 (168cm) so it's practically impossible to be him. It's extremely rare to grow from 5'6 to 6'3 from 19-22, the vast majority of men are done growing by 18. The only man who is 5+ inches taller than Mikasa that she knows is Jean, who is 6'3 (190 cm).

    This should prove without a doubt that the man with her was Jean, not Armin. Either that, or some other tall man we don't know, but it's most likely Jean imo. Another proof that she is married is that she had a child with them when they visited. Why would she and Jean go together with a child if they are not married with a child? Being married and visiting with their child is the most reasonable explanation. But there is even more evidence, and this is the strongest. When she died and was buried, you can see a silver wedding ring on her finger. There's really no way to deny that, the animators made it clear to us.

    Many people say that "there were white lilies around her when she died

    symbolizes virginity", but in fact it is not true. The flowers around her are not

    white lilies, are carnations. The anime made this more clear, plus the fact

    she wears a wedding ring making it impossible for her to be a virgin.

    But here's why I think ed doesn't mean em reunion

    -the Ed is an official song but em reuniting is not a canon event. Yams didn't draw them together in the manga. Em is forever separated by death.
    -Mikasa woke up at 1:19 because it's all a dream or hallucination. Yes, she woke up after all that yes, the Ed is in correct order
    -Eren killed 80% of human population. A criminal like him does not deserve a happy afterlife with Mikasa.
    -The Ed is just a fan service for em shippers
    -Mikasa is married. If she dies, she reunites with her husband & not Eren. Check the end credits and we see she has a wedding ring.
    -Since when did eds have meaning ? Lmao. It's only artistic choice.
    -The guidebook, which will be released some time now, will explicitly say Mikasa married Jean so for now be happy with a lie that Mikasa is with Eren
