Two ROCK Fans REACT to Jung Kook of BTS Seven



• Prior to the band’s hiatus in 2022, only the rap line (RM, Suga, and J-hope) had released solo work in the form of mixed tapes, as they are the primary song writers in BTS.

However, all the members have solo songs that they have performed or written/co-written (or both) on BTS’s albums or released for free on platforms like soundcloud.

Many in the group have also worked on collaborations with other artists and performed solo work as part of OSTs for k-dramas/movies, etc., for example Jimin was just on a collaboration for the most recent fast and the furious soundtrack and Jimin and V had a song on the Eternals Marvel movie soundtrack.

You will hear some say that Seven is JK’s first officially released single, which it kind of is, but there are several solo songs out there by JK and lots of covers on youtube.

This month JK released two of his previous old soundcloud songs (Still With You; My You) as singles to streaming services right before the release of Seven to bulk up the numbers of solo songs out there (smart marketing) since there isn’t much of his work on streaming platforms.

When the band announced their hiatus during FESTA 2022 (debut anniversary annual celebration), they made it clear that ALL the members would be focusing on solo work prior to joining the military and they would be moving from mixed tapes to actual albums.

(I personally think this was crucial for the label, as stock prices plummeted after the hiatus announcement, but investors gained confidence after the amazing response to each solo release and by the time Jimin released his solo album earlier this year stocks had gone back up even higher than pre hiatus (crisis averted). That is also why all the albums are spaced out the way they are as well. Savvy business strategy. Not many k-pop bands would be able to do it this way because they don’t have fandoms large enough to support solo work to this level, so it would be better if the entire band enlists at the same time and returns at the same time.)

Since the hiatus, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, and Suga have released their solo albums so far. That means we have JK, V, and Jin left.

NOTE: Jin did release a farewell fan song, Astronaut, that he wrote with Coldplay prior to joining the military and performed it at a Coldplay concert, but not an album-he will start on his solo work when he returns next June.

  1. I don’t like US female rapper too tbh😂 normally I’d listen the clean ver. but E ver. doesn’t make me feel bad when JK singing F word idk why. His performance isn’t a sexually suggestive performance.

  2. I am not a fan of this song at all. I prefer "still with you" that is a song about love. But to honest i think both made a good job in this song,since this is a version about about sex,it makes sense latto sing about it in the song.

  3. i dont think there was anything wrong with latto she wasnt even as explicit as jungkook was also he chose her everything about his song was chosen by him not forced just to make it big in the states. bts dont sacrifice their creative input to go number 1 he just happened to make all the right decisions and armys loved the song too which is what made it go number 1. he couldve rewrote the song into korean and the same outcome wouldve happened or even if she wasnt on the song.

There are more make rappers rapping about women and shooting killing not to mention they have videos with women scantly clad ect ect….. yea, you don’t have to like the rap women so in the industry but get “real” man….men do so much more “grotesque” and “violent” rapping then women do.

I think one of the reasons that JK his head didn’t get big like you said in the beginning is because they faced a lot of hardships that could break people down let alone young people, they were welcomed with a lot of hate not cheers. The world wasn’t under his feet from the get go unlike some other young artists who blew up as soon as their first performance. By the time when they started to blew up they’ve already faced everything imaginable to get where they at and I think that one of the reasons that they are humble despite being the biggest boy group in the world right now.

  11. SEVEN has also been #1 on the Spotify Global chart for 20 out of the last 21 days. Imagine that a song with that kind of popularity has never been #1 on the Today's Top Hits playlist, and that it actually went DOWN last week so that brand new songs could be placed above it, as well as other songs with much lower placement on the Global list. It's ridiculous.

  12. what you said about female rappers is how I feel about the majority of rap/hip hop artists in america in general. or anyone in top 40 radio… i actually started listening to kpop because american music became so sexualized. i am not a huge fan of rap in general but the first american rapper i listened to was Eminem and his song Not Afraid on my tiny box tv in my bedroom as a teen when it was playing at like 3am on MTV. haha and I like songs similar in message to that one. songs about struggles and everyday situations. it's ok if the song is about love or if it alludes to sex in an almost poetic way where it's clever writing that has double meanings. but american music talks blatantly outright about sex, drugs, and womens body parts that it also grosses me out as well. i had to stop listening to it. for me, this verse from Latto is clever enough that I am ok with it. like "swallow your pride" to me is a clever allusion to a bl*wjob and isnt outright saying it. i appreciate writing like that. 🙂

  13. Investors are mostly just that, investors. They buy and sell on where they think future earnings are going to go. Anyone who has played the market knows that almost any piece of news will move a stock sometimes in large shifts as stock prices are to some extent predictions of future earnings. Some stocks are granted a lot of leeway while others do not get large what is called price to earnings ratios.
    That said when you are a Korean music company which holds an asset which represents over 50% of the Korean music market, speculation on the future will be volatile when news or incidents occur. BTS's hiatus got knee jerk reactions from both investors and the press. Uncertainty is the one thing markets hate. Just as in America all presidents (save one) never have used the stock market as a barometer of how things are going. A dip in HYBE stock on what was a rather nebulous event really shouldn't be described as more than speculators speculating. That the solo works of BTS members prior to military induction have done phenomenally speaks to many things, but the stock market downward move following their 2022 hiatus announcement should not be seen as anything beyond speculators doing their usual fear and greed back and forth.

  17. D&J REACT, understand a few things; HYBE is a business, they add different collaborations to reach different demographics, hoping those fans become BTS fans which equals dollar, dollar. For example, V was in Mexico for a show, the reach for Mexican exposure, Jungkook was in Dubai, introducing new fans there, etc…the BTS fanbase is growing all the time, as well as HYBE's pockets.
    PLEASE react to the SEVEN MV. In my opinion (romantic, not explicit) JK will be with ARMY (every hour, every minute, every second) through whatever challenges that life throws at us, till death do we part (there is a coffin scene in the MV).

He can’t listen to female rappers because they talk about s*x but is fine with male rappers talking about sex and calling women the B word in songs.   20. You guys not liking her verse is fine. She wasn’t any more explicit than jungkook tho. Same with female rappers. They aren’t any more sexual than male rappers. There are plenty of rappers today rapping about non sexual things, including latto, but honestly what’s popular rn is sexual songs. It’s what ppl wanna hear so it’s what artist are gonna release. Again not liking her verse is fine, I appreciate u guys being real, but could we at least be respectful to the artist and not trash talk the genre? I don’t think there’s really anything wrong with adults singing/rapping about sex tho I do think ppl can be extreme with it sometimes.     While it took at least a year for “Seven” to exist in its simplest form, once it was decided that it would go to Jung Kook, things moved fast. He flew to LA to record his vocals with Watt and Cirkut, and his part was done only about a month ago. Both producers were aware of Jung Kook's success with BTS, but they were still blown away by what he delivered in the studio.

  26. You should repeatedly check places like Walmart for their computers. Sometimes they have good deals. That's how I got both my new computer and mom's for a really good price. Both great computers for less than 1000 dollars. I think mine was 700 and mom's was like 500? I actually thought mom's was a scam. Such a good computer, such a low price. But it wasn't a scam. It's been great for her. As for mine, its only flaw was that it needed more ram. Which I've already fixed. 😊

I can understand that not everyone is comfortable talking so openly about sensuality but what I can't understand is having a double standard when it comes to explicit content. Why do you think it's cool for Jungkook to talk about f*ckin his partner 7 days a week but it's not ok for Latto to talk about sexual contact with her partner? Women talking about sex isn't "trashy".     I am in agreement with you that Latto is excess to requirement. In the MV which is the "loving" version she is really slutty, whereas JK is able to say "fucking you" without being offensive in any way. He's a darling.
    I think he had to partner with an US artist to inhibit their counting of downloads on Billboard.

  47. I have a different opinion than many of the commenters about the double standard issue. I disagree. Also, it isn't fair to start slinging hate comments instead of politely asking questions if you are concerned. If you had asked the reactors why they thought JK's vs latto's lyrics struck a different note i am sure they could have thought about it and replied. I personally prefer the clean version and am not a big fan of the latto verse, but i respect JK and his team's creative decisions as artists, including latto. However, as to the accusition of double standards i do think there is a difference in the level of detail. For example, there is a difference in movies when showing a clean (not showing details) s@x scene vs a similar scene (not showing details) implying oral and different positions. It comes across much more rsunchy. I don't think it is sexist or a double standard, rather the level of detail about the topic. Just my opinion. Be kind and always give the benefit of the doubt by asking questions rather than knee jerk reactions and taking offense right off the bat. The world could use a lot more kindness. One of my favorite comments JK said in his recent suchwita interview was that he is not mean and suga agreed and added that all the members are really kind. They have really worked on turning the other cheek. We can all do the same. Gender wars are worse now than they ever have been and there are so many issues on both sides at this point. But we can still be civil and ask questions before condemning. 14:35

    Only JK can sing this explicit version/lyrics so adorably, sweetly and lovingly😆😍 Even on the music video, he looked comical and cute when he was very devoted to his girl every second, minute, hour for seven days a week. However, I feel that Latto's verse is more raunchy with her facial expression, demeanor and singing😆
