With much respect to Hanyu, I hope this competition is proof enough that Nathan's loss at the 2018 Olympics had nothing to do with ability, but just nerves, which are now clearly not an issue. Here, when matched head-to-head and both are healthy, Nathan can beat Hanyu by more than 22 points. That's quite an achievement.
I won't deny his technical prowess and I'm not even a fan of Hanyu but between Nathan's costume and his lack of ANY emotion in his face or movements in his skating, this looks like a run through practice, not the LP at the World Championships. That's why people prefer Hanyu..he's not as "moving" as most say but he has more expression than the other men right now. This was a total bore to watch.
I like his skating style very much ! , although I am a Japanese ! His skating style is very dynamic & sensitive & fresh !

i don't know why, but I don't really like Nathan Chen. I don't like his skating style and don't see harmony in his perfomances.
i like chen a lot and his skating but i think that he won because of his technical merit. his skating is breath taking because of the jumps but if you ask me he is still lacking on how to properly connect or convey his movements. i love him though and even though it breaks my heart to say this, he truly deserved that gold medal.
All the competitors in this EVENT and SPORT knows how to skate and do tricks on ice. But the one who stands above them all is simply the BEST. Respect. 👊
