Is Your Life Your Own? The Marmalade 1971 竹野内豊 チェ・ジウ

Down in the darkest of Valleys,
I’d give my right arm to see…Yeh,
You’ve got it all,
But you never, ever, gonna breakdown that wall,
Why don’t you give it up, bring yourself home to me.

Don’t set your life out on paper,
You have the wrong light shining on you,
You’ve got it all, so you should keep it, keep it,
Keep it like you’ve earned it all,
Where is that girl I knew,
Come on and give me, some of the love I knew.

CHORUS
Tell, tell, tell me, what is the answer?
Tell, tell, tell me, what’s it all about?
Tell, tell, tell me, what’s the life your living?
Tell, tell tell me, is your life your own?

I had a dream, about me dying, oh Lord,
I saw my whole life, laid out before my eyes,
Yes I did.
Then I remembered about living, living,
Living’s what it’s all about,
Give you a lesson for free,
Why can’t you be yourself, come home and please me,

CHORUS REPEAT TWICE

  1. Another great post stbricesday. I forgot how much I liked this song until I heard it again. And I could still remember all the words, so I could sing along.:)

  3. Oh wouldn't it just be great to be back there listening to this played live. Such a great song. Such a great band. That man's voice is pure gold.

  4. This is fast becoming my favourite Marms song, only found it recently . . . FANTASTIC – it has only got better with age . . . bands these days just couldn't do it!!

  5. . . . . what I mean by 'couldn't do it' . . . . record a song that someone will find over 40 years later and feel about it the way I feel about this song . . . . superb voice, superb sound, and as valid as the day it was cut.

  6. This is indeed a wonderful piece from the fantastic Marmalade. Dean's voice is heavenly, this group is definitely something to behold!!!

  7. Something's wrong here… Since when was Marmalade a country group? … Is this Dean Ford?!
