Hidemi Ishikawa – Summer Breeze – 1984 [Full Album]

One of my favourite Idol pop albums, a smooth funky bop produced by Tetsuji Hayashi and Yuichiro Oda. Full of those City Pop vibes.

  1. During Hidemi Ishikawa's time as an idol, when a viewer pointed out that she was outclassed
In every way by Akina Nakamori on a TV show, she replied that this was absolutely not true
I wonder if there was even a single point where Hidemi Ishikawa was superior to Akina Nakamori at that time

  2. there are so many good idols from this period, what comes to mind is kaori shimura or risa tachibana or minayo watanbe, the list never ends, now the ones I mentioned was more synth-pop but has slight city pop influence, just a little, now michiru Kojima was an idol heavily influenced by city pop, I would say she is above Hidemi Ishikawa. also I feel that every idol had at least one city pop album seiko matsuda's 風立ちぬ was arranged and composed by eiichi ohtaki, a very famous city pop artist 😛
