19日放送の『ぐるぐるナインティナイン』（日本テレビ系）「新メンバーは3人！今夜は2人を大発表！木村佳乃＆出川哲朗も大興奮2時間SP！」が放送され、新シーズン「ゴチになります！24」が開幕。3人の新メンバーのうち1人目が小芝風花であると明らかになった。
昨年末、ノブ（千鳥）、池田エライザ、高杉真宙の3人がクビになり、メンバーの半分が一気に去ることになったゴチ大精算SPから3週間。迎える新メンバーは3名と発表され、2週にわたり発表される。 小芝は1人目の新メンバーとして謎の覆面姿でスタンバイ。スタッフからの1問1答の質問に答え、「強いて言えば何オタク？」という質問には「え～!? フライドポテト！」と話し、小学生の頃に好きだった芸能人は「井上真央さん。今でも好きです」と即答していた。「ゴチ」メンバーの増田貴久や、小芝のデビュー作で共演した経験のある木村は、直前の予想で小芝だと的中していた。
