  1. yep, Johnny and that Firebird VII were the bomb…absolutely killed it. To this day, his blues stand with the absolute best. Yeah, Beaumont, Tx. 🙂

  2. The good ol' days when the music was real. Coolest dude with crew playing their ass of, what an astounding performance. Seems to me Slash is a ripoff in the hat matter, Johnny wears that like a true rock star

  3. It's 'Lawdy' not lordy! 'Slash', lose the hat and fake Les Paul as Gibson's last 'hurrah' model boy in they're image. Johnny had a for real 70's Rock tone while chooglin' one and together in riffs and licks guitar and vocals. I'm 66 Rock/Metal musician pissed off too young for Woodstock movie in 1969 so I went to the record store and asked WOW! "Who's that?" Johnny's album when I heard Good Morning Little Schoolgirl! (…,tell your moth'a and your fath'a I'm a little schoolboy too!) Hoo- hoo! And there's more where that came from!!!

  4. 1:58 bassline is insane. Randy Jo Hobbs so casually plays this part and it is a fricking hard part to pull off. He just effortlessly crushes it. Mind blown.

  5. Don't remember the year, but I saw them once. IIRC, the first song was Good Morning Little School Girl. Johnny came out in a dry ice fog with his black top hat and it was on. Damn that man could play. One of the shows I ever saw.

  6. When Johnny rocked out, his solos were phenomenal – he seemed to do the Jazz guitar thing (solo for 32 bars) but go completely for it! If u like straightahead rock, Still Alive & Well or Johnny Winter And… are THE hard rock albums of Johnny's to get

  7. Long ago, when I was a single digit
kid, my audiophile brother said…"you gotta check this guy out! Johnny's got it going on!"
