What do you think about it? Does it look too much like the Royal Oak or is it just as justified as other 70s inspired watches? Let me know what you think in the comments down below!

  1. I don‘t think the GP Laureato is a cheaper copy of the AP Royal Oak. In my opinion the original design in 1975 looked much different. Today, design-wise it looks much better than the Royal Oak, especially with the new green dial. Also the movement is very good and looks nice. Not to talk about the price tag. Overall for me, the Laureato is just the better choice!

  2. Hi Jennie, I luv GP or Girard Perregaux. I have 2, AP Royal Oak and the 1, Laureato. After 6 months of wearing the AP, I felt it wasn't worth the money and once I had seen the inside it put me off some more. The construction with the rubber gasket in a sandwich form was simply crap. Then I couldn't see what the fuss was about. It was obvious, the people who bought the Royal Oak, because of fashion for validation or to say i'm wearing an AP. Which didn't mean shit to me. On the other hand the GP, on a blue dial was simply a no brainer.
Oh if you want images of my AP, Royal Oak. Opened let me know.

Jennie, is someone tickling you… ahahah a

  3. Known for their extreme rip off prices, I hate to criticise a watch brand again, but they bring it upon themselves. I don't hate the brand, I have owned about 6 old vintage GPs, and the Gyromatic 39, with 39 jewels, was excellent.

  4. I believe the watch industry and enthusiasts need to just stop comparing watches to the Royal Oak and simply meet each individual piece where it is and for what it brings. Period. Thank you.

  5. The GP is in my opinion,is a fantastic watch for the price. The face of the GP looks cut not stamped like the AP. How does the Royal Oak justify its price? Thanks Jenni

  6. Jenni….

I found your channel a little while ago.

Very nice. Watch reviews from a sensible & enthusiast stand point….

    You deserve respect.

But this Rolex, hubby, give me money, rubbish….

It's so lame. You can't distance yourself, as he's your man. We know.

But so ashamed…. We in England like your past spunk. But hate your method now..

    Your busted girl…. Sadly….!

  7. I have owned this exact model and its an absolute stunner. I hope to get my hands on a black onyx dial Laureato as some point. GP still underrated.

  8. Compared to all the Royal Oak "copies," the Royal Oak is the least attractive one to me personally.

  9. I own this watch and I can say that it is such a classy watch. I don’t see it as a AP homage at all. It wears big and is very masculine. I can’t recommend this watch enough. The one downside is the fact it does not have on the fly bracelet adjustment. At this price point, it should have. But overall it’s a fantastic watch.

  10. 10 years ago no one cared about the Nautilus. This 70s design craze is truly boring at this point… when will the trend die?

  11. GP could shut down tomorrow and few would care.
I remember when they were pedaling those dreadful Ferrari chronographs 25 years ago.

  12. @Jenni, put your hands on a 8010 Laureato (not easy to find) 38mm, wear like a 36, not middle flat links. It's absolutely stunning. I prefer that rather to the new one (I share same wrist dimensions as you) pretty sure that you will love it

  13. Really tough to use the term, copycat. GP Laureato came out shortly after Royal Oak. Unless GP had every detail of the Royal oak before the Royal oak was released. No way GP was able to copy it.

  14. Baume & Mercier Riviera also from same time period, and would fit your wrist much better at its 36mm size
