Media outlets reported that actress Ryoko Shinohara will make her first attempt at sign language acting in the Fuji Television drama “silent,” which will start in October.
The drama is an original love story about the main character, Tsumugi, played by Haruna Kawaguchi, and a young man, Sou, who suffers from bilateral sensorineural hearing loss of juvenile onset, which is designated as an intractable disease.
Shinohara takes on the role of Ritsuko, a loving mother to three children, including Sou, in a sign language performance. She commented, “I hope I can express the feelings behind the lines.
