俳優の萩原聖人さんと村上淳さんが主演、女優の吉岡里帆さんも出演する映画「島守の塔」（五十嵐匠監督、7月22日から順次公開）の予告映像が6月15日、公開された。
太平洋戦争末期の沖縄戦を舞台にした作品で、国内唯一の地上戦「沖縄戦」で、一人でも多くの沖縄県民の命を助けようとした萩原さん演じる島田叡県知事と村上さん演じる荒井退造警察部長の苦悩と葛藤が描かれる。絶望の中に見える一筋の光を手繰り寄せようとする、島田の世話役の県職員・比嘉凛（吉岡さん）の姿に、命の大切さがヒシヒシと伝わってくる胸に迫る予告映像となっている。
凛の妹で看護学徒隊の比嘉由紀役で池間夏海さんがも出演。映画「ひめゆりの塔」に出演していた香川京子さんが現代の凜を演じている。

Fucking trash movie. Is this movie about to be some heroic last stand by the IJA protecting their land and people against the Allies? Like their some victim of war or something
The Japanese army brainwashed and forced the civilians and locals to fight even when they didn't want to and forced them to fake a surrender to the allies and act as suicide bombers.
How about Japan make a movie that tells of the millions of Asians that endured suffering under their rule
