ニーナは4歳になりました。
3歳になった2025年4月からの一年間のニーナの様子をお届けします。
この一年は体の大きさだけではなく、ニーナの心の成長も感じられました。

2025年6月には、しばらく群れから離れていた母親:クエモドキがエサ場に戻ってきました。
久しぶりの親子の再会の時、2人がどのような反応だったのか…

現在のニーナとクエモドキの関係ですが、しばらく顔を合わせていないと思われます。
ニーナは群れの中心メンバーと共に行動をしていますが、クエモドキはニーナ以外の娘や孫たちと共に、行動をしているようです。

クエモドキの様子を観察していると、2025年6月に戻ってからニーナの近くで過ごしながら娘に近づこうとしているように見えました。
しかし、ニーナの方は母親(クエモドキ)を意識しているようでしたが、甘えにいくような行動は全く見られませんでした。

2人の関係の真相は、本人たちにしか分からないことですが、私はニーナ自身が母親と一緒に過ごすよりも、群れの仲間たちと共に過ごすことを選んだのではないか、と思っています。

親子の関係を心配されている方も多いようですが、私はニーナとクエモドキが元気に過ごしていれば、それだけで十分ではないかと思います。

4歳になったニーナが、これからどんなワカモノに、そしてオトナに成長していくのか…
これからも静かに見守っていきたいと思います。

Nina turned 4 years old.
Here’s a look at Nina’s progress over the past year, from when she turned 3 in April 2025.
This past year, we’ve seen not only her physical growth, but also her emotional development.

In June 2025, Nina’s mother, Kuemodoki, who had been away from the herd for some time, returned to the feeding grounds.
What was their reaction to their long-awaited reunion?

Regarding the current relationship between Nina and Kuemodoki, it seems they haven’t seen each other for a while.

Nina is acting with the core members of the pack, while Kuemodoki appears to be acting with other daughters and grandchildren besides Nina.

Observing Kuemodoki, it appeared that since returning to June 2025, she had been spending time near Nina and trying to get closer to her daughter.

However, while Nina seemed aware of her mother (Kuemodoki), she showed no signs of seeking affection or closeness.

The truth about their relationship is something only they know, but I think Nina herself chose to spend time with her pack members rather than with her mother.

Many people seem worried about the parent-child relationship, but I think it’s enough if Nina and Kuemodoki are healthy.

Now that Nina is four years old, I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of young person and adult she will grow into…
I will continue to quietly watch over her.
