  3. Each interpretation of these young maestros is thoroughly engaging, convincing. If they were each set in the universal sonic garden the effect would be not unlike that original axiom, namely: “Sound words are the unerring framework upon which the blessed conscience revolves.” The image is that of a beautiful multi-faceted crystalline sphere.   4. You stood out among the rest, showing everyone that you are already at another level. People’s preferences are all different, but you undeniably have your own style. I deeply hope you are the winner.

  12. Pas convaincue par la Polonaise depuis le début. Excellent pianiste mais pas franchement Chopinesque. On s'ennuie. Il ne comprend l'âme polonaise et sa fierté. Prestation assez quelconque, tout compte fait. Décevant, j'en attendais plus. Il n'y a pas le rêve, ce chant intérieur, cette mélodie si personnelle qu'on doit rendre avec son ❤. On ne l'apprends pas. On l'a ou pas. De plus je n'aime pas son touché, pas assez chantant. C'est de la technique verticale, sécurisé, à toute épreuve, du béton qui ne permet pas cette finesse que on cherche dans cette musique. Cela irait dans un autre concours sans doute. Même le 2e mouvement sonne calculé. Manque de générosité slave. Terre a terre alors qu'on attend de l'élévation spirituelle. Je ne sens pas cette sincérité ici. C'est du bien fait mais insuffisant. C'est du Chopin scolaire.

  18. Mr. Chen practiced his Chopin pieces many hours. His piano playing is superb when he plays with the orchestra or solo. I look forward to hearing him play more Chopin pieces in the future. Good luck with the competition.

  21. In my view Kevin Chen is above all competitors by the combination of his impecable taste, subtlety with brilliant technique of execution.

  22. Shame on that so called "jury". No polish and no other European participant received a prize….
    I'm tired to see Ben Laude at the Chopin Institute with his tonebase- buddies from the US….

    I recommend to every real and true and natural musician ( a "pianist" is now not necessary a "musician") to watch "point of view" on YouTube.
    Than you have no more questions how these 2025 "results" were made…

    In 1980, genius , musician, artist and pianist Ivo Pogorelich was the very best. So good that even the former gold medal winner , genius Mrs. Martha Argerich ( together with Nikita Magaloff and Paul Badura-Skoda) resigned from this "jury". The 1980 "chairman" was a musicologist only…..

    In 1995 genius Alexei Sultanov (Rest In Peace maestro Aliosha) only received a second prize…..There's a lot of material of his Warsaw recitals on YouTube and than pls tell me who was the best 3o years ago…….

    In 2010 genius ( and 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition winner) Daniil Trifonov ( who is also a composer and he already introduced his first composed piano concerto) reached only a ridiculous third prize and behind showman Ingolf Wunder and gold medalist Yulianna Avdeeva…

    What this night happened is way enough. But Ohlson and his tone-base -buddies got what they wanted: sterile, clean standards. Not less and not more.

    Rename this competetion into "International (= Japan /China /Malaysia /Korea) Frederic Chop-Chang- .Competetion".
    Use only Kawai and Yang Chang grand pianos and invite boring Garrick Ohlson , Ben Laude and Jed Distler again.

    If I want to listen to music of Frederic Chopin, I'm gonna listen to Rubinstein, Horowitz, Gilels, Pollini, Argerich, Benedetti-Michelangeli and from the younger generation Yefgeni Kissin, Daniil Trifofonov and Beatrice Rana from Italy. Way more quality !

  37. ケヴィンさん、テクニック先行の方という印象でしたがファイナルは落ち着いた演奏で楽しめました。
    順位はどうあれ、今後世界で活躍されると思います。素晴らしい演奏をありがとうございました。
    蛇足ですが、オーケストラはこちらのほうが上手ですね。
