プライムビデオが『カウントダウン&バタフライ』を1シーズンで打ち切り

Prime Video has officially canceled two of its high-profile series, Countdown and Butterfly, after just one season.
Countdown, starring Jensen Ackles, Eric Dane, and Jessica Camacho, followed a tense race against time to save Los Angeles. Despite reaching the Nielsen Top 10 and staying on Prime Video’s own Top 10 list for weeks, the show was cut amid the streamer’s reevaluation of new scripted content.
Butterfly, led by Daniel Dae Kim, was a gripping spy thriller set in South Korea. Inspired by Arash Amel’s graphic novel series, the show featured a star-studded cast including Kim Ji-hoon, Park Hae-soo, and Kim Tae-hee. It also broke into the Nielsen Top 10, proving its popularity.
The cancellations come alongside recent Prime Video moves, including the removal of Motorheads, while other titles like We Were Liars, Overcompensating, and Ballard remain safe. Jensen Ackles will continue working with Prime Video through his production company Chaos Machine and upcoming roles in The Boys season 5 and its prequel, Vought Rising.
The streaming wars remain fierce, showing that even strong-performing shows must fight to survive.
