● Introduction
The first 2D animated “LUPIN THE THIRD” work in about 30 years.
A prequel to the theatrical film “LUPIN THE IIIRD THE MOVIE: Goemon’s Blood Spray.”
This work features Inspector Zenigata as the protagonist in a gripping hard-boiled action tale.
In the frigid land of the Robieto Federation, a terrorist bombing strikes an airport.
The prime suspect? None other than Lupin the Third.
However, the “other Lupin” whom Zenigata corners claims he’s innocent.
Zenigata, a man devoted to justice, finds himself facing off against the enigmatic “Fake Lupin” (voiced by Kenyu Horiuchi).
The director is Takeshi Koike, who has helmed the “LUPIN THE IIIRD” series since 2014.
A powerhouse cast assembles: Koichi Yamadera (Inspector Zenigata), Kanichi Kurita (Lupin III), Akio Otsuka (Daisuke Jigen),
Daisuke Namikawa (Goemon Ishikawa), and Miyuki Sawashiro (Fujiko Mine).
National conspiracies, the truth behind the bombings, and the clash of two Lupins Zenigata’s unwavering convictions are put to the test.
The most intense, melancholic, and passionately charged buddy action in the series’ history begins.
● Story
Inspector Zenigata is caught in a bombing attack at an airport in the Robieto Federation,
and is shocked to see the culprit’s face: it’s Lupin the Third.
Though he loses sight of the suspect, he soon discovers another “Lupin” at a train station.
Zenigata manages to capture this Lupin on the train, but he escapes with Daisuke Jigen’s help.
Meanwhile, Fujiko Mine infiltrates a circus troupe, gaining the favor of supreme leader Breilin as an aerialist.
With a military disarmament parade looming, National Security Council head Karashikov brands Lupin as both the perpetrator and a spy for the Republic of Arka, and hunts him down
but Zenigata harbors doubts.
Then, as Lupin is cornered by the National Security Council in the capital,
it is Zenigata who believes in his innocence who stands before him.
Yet in that very moment, a fresh explosion targets Zenigata…
