Bonus info for S3 OVA 1
The beach OVA is the second beach related short story (the first was a CD drama and had different VAs from the anime, like the manga/anime inspiration [Rikka from Chuunibyou] for Megumin voiced her, while this is from the LNs’ many short stories.) For obvious reasons, these OVAs are not canon and S4 would continue from S3’s finale instead (this SS was around LN 4-5/S2-movie.) This is from Yorimichi! 2/Detour! 2, which are short stories that originally were rewards for supporting special editions, limited blu-rays, and etc, so these are just ‘not recorded’ stories that not everyone had access to originally (Yorimichi! LNs don’t include any short stories from the main series LNs, so they don’t have a proper timeline nor are canon to the main LNs, except for 3, which were all written after Konosuba ended/the 10th anniversary and are interconnected and post LN 7 but are still just for fun.)
Slight changes: the start was a less chaotic lunch, but Darkness and Aqua were getting excited to go on a special quest and Kazuma was desperate for a quest but tried to act cool to hide that (Aqua exposed him), Darkness wore a white one-piece swimsuit so she couldn’t be stripped anyways and would’ve actually protected the people and Kazuma got discouraged after realizing, Megumin and YunYun are wearing ‘Crimson Demon waterproof Gear’ which are just dark blue Japanese school swimsuits because of the Japanese inventor, explanation that the water spirit changes form due to public imaginations, which she looked like a ‘woman of the night’ with blue hair, the spirit flipped off Aqua after knocking her to the shore, Kazuma didn’t strip, Darkness explains that she tried Decoy but it didn’t work and Kazuma pulls her to shore before diving in again, instead of not knowing how to swim, YunYun collapsed and Wiz took her away, Kazuma compares the spirit to the Winter Shogun in terms of durability, Megumin name dropping the chapter/episode title by intertwining it with Explosion, everything after the men bowed was anime original, and the taunt Kazuma said to the spirit was, ‘You look like a rundown prostitute.’ 15:52 – It’s because she’ll be immobilized and needs to focus on Explosion, so the ring is so she doesn’t drown. Next Season may have more Aqua, but it’s still another character’s LN, like how Iris broke the cycle.
