I got some question. Something isn’t added up. Are Jay- Z and J. Cole Cool?

J Cole ended Dreamvile this year. Jay Z take from these artists. Cole was warned by KDot.😢😢
KDot know what Jay Z was about.
J Cole is to nice to be in this industry.
I got wind that J Cole wasn't feeling Jay Z from the NFL "We past kneeling" deal.
lmao im too high, that's you twice right? lmao
<3
Didnt kendrick buy his masters back from top? And they're apparently still cool so i think cole issues with hov might go past business. Hov was never a mentor to cole the way wayne is to drake or dre is to dot.
From stabbing a dude in 99 to "I won't fight you over a million dollars, fam" is astronomical growth.
@reedmysole would you rather sign to Dreamville, OVO, or TDE given all 3 have artists who complained (Reason, Ari, makonnen etc)
Who got the publishing? I got questions 👀👀
I’m playing the twilight zone music thinking about your music mind!!! (Nice plot for another video 😉!)
Youre wrong, J Cole if you study his early music hes ALWAYS had a candidly standoffish (on the business side) relationship and used to mention how Jay never held his hand, he definitely doesnt take it personally because you shouldnt, also YARL thinking because you dont see guys pally pallying in public they arent having lunch every weekemd is low vibe talky talk
As for Kanye if you think ANYTHING hes tweeted is to be taken seriously yoire not well aligned, dude is mentally fried and is being fed NOX everyday on top of all his mental maladies so holding any of his off kikter rants against hin tells me youre not really listening. IMO
I feel like there was tension ever since Jay-Z wouldn't release Cole's debut without a pop hit. Cole was forced to go against his foundational principles as learnt from Nas, and demonstrated in his mixtape rapping prowess, to make the comparatively watered down Sideline Story. I think Cole would be a much more conscious artist today and more consistent in his messaging if it weren't for Jay's influence.
Aye respect mr nice watch, it’s a BANGER
I think that you're onto something about tension, but I think that the approach to business and the music business in particular is what has them at odds with each other.
As for granting the Superbowl to Kendrick? I think it was primarily a business decision (and perhaps culture was a secondary consideration…most likely a distant second). It was a decision made after the greatest battle in hip hop history, where J. Cole's hating ass chose to involve himself over jealousy and then promptly backed out before he could suffer the consequences for it lyrically.
I think that things worked out perfectly for Jay-Z in that way. It worked out so that Jay-Z won in business and was able to humiliate Cole again to prove the point that he's not that guy and has NEVER been that guy. Remember that story where Jay-Z humiliated Cole early in his career by reaching out to Drake asking him to "please help that 🥷🏾 get a hit"? The Superbowl thing was another way that Jay-Z was able to figuratively piss on J Cole.
JID feels lost to time, dang shame.
I ain’t never think of it like that with the superbowl 🤷🏾♂️🤔
It always felt like Jay settled for Cole cuz he missed out on Drake and treated him like a tax write off. He gave Drake “Light Up” and “Pound Cake” and gave Cole “Mr. Nice Watch”!? Are we serious? Fall Off better have a GOAT Jay-Z verse.
love Cole but he did say he didnt read the contract he jus signed it
Jay-Z has had discrepancies with and been demonized by damn near everyone in the rap industry. Now J Cole? How you have beef with Cole? lol Don’t this make y’all a little suspicious?
Jcole wants the fame but doesn't want the fame, he is always conflicted.
🎯
I never thought about it too hard but nah this all makes sense though
“Would you sell your soul on credit? Would you sell your bro for leverage?” – Dot on N95. Kendrick called it out as well
You listen to JID’s new song yet? I be rubbing my hands together trying to make the new album appear 🙏🤣
Jay is in competition with every artist he’s signed and has covertly tried to sabotage any other artists he saw as a threat. He signed Cole to keep Cole underneath his legacy so he could look good every time Cole accomplishes something but also be able to keep him from surpassing him in any way. The same way Jay always tries to son Ye and take credit for his billionaire status to this day to hype up his “business acumen” when everyone knows Dame is who actually did majority of the work building Kanye’s to where he is. It’s a subtle way to keep artists he views as rivals close enough to use (Jay putting himself on the WTT album or even more recently, the “Jail” song off Donda for relevancy, even though him and Ye weren’t on good terms anymore publicly). Him “helping” Wayne with his taxes but it then being publicized to make Jay look like a hero while at the same time making Wayne look less than legacy wise. Same way Jay sent Desiree to reach out to Wayne to “talk” about the Super Bowl then made him look entitled for no reason for thinking he would get the look when Roc Nation is who brought it up to him bts. Beans, Dmx, Nas, Meek, etc. the list goes on man.
lol didn’t Kanye west say nobody fucking to j cole 😂😂😂
This intro was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
loving these intros
Even Jay likes Kendrick better😂😂
8:23 no one else has mentioned this. I’ve been curious about that since it happened🤌🏾
Lupe was really the prodigy that Jay-Z wanted. He wanted to sign Lupe & Lupe is a fan & student of Hov.
Once he couldn't get Lupe he settled for everybody else.
To me it seems like their styles clash, on top of not having a great relationship. At the end of the day Jay did protect hip hops legacy by platforming him.
Cole either couldn’t get more help or didn’t want Jays hand in all his work. He seemed like he wanted to stand on his own two feet.
Not to compare everyone to Kendrick but I think this goes back to culture. Kendrick has a relationship with Jay Z and LeBron who Cole and Drake have issues with. The way Kendrick grew up he knows that these people aren’t his friends. He can have respect for them but he can draw the line because he’s street smart. Cole and Drake think if someone has their number they’re friends.
Hey from one parent of a special needs child to another, thanks for calling out those heartless budget cuts.

It's just entertainment.
